Outlet shopping, Kate Spade, and a Dole Whip
Today was just about perfect. Shopping at the Las Vegas South Premium Outlets and 60% off at Kate Spade, a coveted Dole Whip (dairy and gluten-free) in said outlet mall, time by the condo pool, an evening shuttle down to the Strip, and a really darn good late supper at Pantry in Mirage. But first, more about my SUPER CUTE new Kate Spade bag. . . It's a tote so plenty of room to carry lots of stuff and it has two interior pockets and comfortable shoulder straps. Did I mention the flamingos? Yeah, bright coral and looking saucy. LOVE IT. I know it will go with everything and, it was 60% off!
An oasis in Mirage - Gluten-free breakfast for dinner
After several hours of shopping and a rejuvenating stint in pool loungers, we decided to head to the Strip for food and to see some of the sights at night. As a side note, Mirage has always been one of my favorite mega-resorts on the Strip. We've never stayed there but maybe someday. Thanks to Yelp, Shawn found gluten-free close by at Pantry, a 24 hour eatery in Mirage. Reviews mentioned gluten-free bread for sandwiches so I was fairly set on a club sandwich. That is until I flipped the menu over and saw that breakfast was available anytime and there was corned beef hash and poached eggs gluten-free-style on the menu. The interior of the Pantry is befitting a mega-resort as are the prices. It was $17 for my hash and eggs and $7 for the kids grilled cheese. It won't break the bank but it's definitely not budget. The service was excellent and our server went out of her way to explain the vegetarian items on the menu to Shawn. Honestly, good service can make or break a meal and the prices they charge are ok when the service is great and the meal is filling. #winning.
After our surprisingly yummy and gluten-free meal, we headed toward the Bellagio to watch the fountains, expose The Boy to the night life in Vegas, and keep him up waaaay past his bedtime. #parentsoftheyear.
